Pat grew up in rural Mississippi on an expansive 1920's era estate distinguished by its Spanish Colonial Revival architecture and miles of picturesque white fences. Her dad was manager of the then cattle ranch, and her mother was the local art teacher. So there were fields, creeks, woods, and cattle, mule, horse and hay barns to explore, and an abundance of natural resources and art materials for discovery and creativity.

She recalls that the only amenity in her meager first grade classroom was a folding blue felt board in the back of the room with cutout figures of people, animals and common objects. But the supple, graphic shapes of pure saturated color made a lasting impression on her.

True to her family name, "See," Pat went on to earn a Bachelor of Visual Arts degree with a graphic design major at Georgia State University in Atlanta. She worked primarily in corporate identity, collateral and editorial design including 11 years at Southern Living magazine in Birmingham. There she was responsible for the Homes and Gardens sections layouts and graphics, and served as art director for Lowe's Creative Ideas and other special publications.

Lifelong interests in sewing and paper crafts, and a fondness for all things whimsical led her to develop several textile-based children’s products. Pat holds several patents for her inventions. They include a “Stunt Streamer” toy inspired by a crepe paper favor from a childhood birthday party and sold by Toysmith Toys. She has also licensed a line of no-sew "Flower Fleece" craft kits to MindWare Toys.

Now based in Richmond, Virginia, the ongoing ingenuity, vision and creative energy of her three adult children and their vibrant families motivate her to continue to learn, grow and explore.
