Natural, Sustainable, Biodegradable

100% wool felt is a non-woven textile made from sheep's wool, water and plant-based textile dyes, that can be commercially composted. Wool is a rapidly renewable resource produced naturally with minimum negative impact to the environment. Consuming a simple mixture of water, air, sunshine and grass, sheep produce a new fleece annually. It is harvested without injury to the animal and is fully biodegradable. Under the right conditions, wool decomposes in a matter of months releasing valuable nutrients back into the soil.

Acoustic Advantage

Wool is the perfect acoustic insulating material due to its capacity to dampen or absorb both high and low frequency sound. Dimensional felted surfaces enable sound waves to penetrate into fabric and become dissipated. Wool muffles noise which reduces stress and enhances the ambiance of a home setting or working environment.

Noise pollution is more than a nuisance, it's a health risk. The European Environmental Agency reports that noise ranks second only to air pollution as the environmental exposure most harmful to public health. Acoustic wall panels can mitigate sound and create a healthier interior environment.

Enhanced Air Quality

Along with sound waves, wool felt also absorbs molecules from airborne toxins such as formaldehyde, nitrogen oxides and sulfur dioxide and does not re-emit those noxious gases. Wool has a thin waxy coating that contains fatty acids which naturally inhibit the growth of mold, mildew and bacteria. According to the International Wool Textile Organization, among its many natural properties is an amazing technical ability to control humidity levels.

Low Maintenance

Wool felt generates very little static electricity and therefore does not attract dirt or lint like most commonly used textile fibers. Surfaces can be maintained with a few passes with an adhesive roller or soft brush. If soiling should occur, surface can be spot cleaned with a mild, water-free cleaning solvent.
