Sometimes it takes an ascent to a new altitude to be able to gain perspective, to see familiar things in a new way. In this aerial view, minutiae and the maddening milieu give way to space. One can rise above the parts and pieces to take in the greater whole. These age-old textures were etched by natural forces and time; the rich, organic patterns defined daily by shifting shadows.
The topographical contours of the Richmond and James River area in Central Virginia are reimagined in layers of pure wool felt revealing an unadorned elegance and harmony.
